Created in 2015 by Filipa Palhares, the choir performs regularly in concerts.
They participated in the Opera “Onehama”, and in the War requiem by Benjamin Britten, with the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra. In the 28th and 29th Temporada de Música de São Roque, in two programs entirely dedicated to Portuguese contemporary composers, with several premieres.
The choir won first prize in the “23rd Certamen Juvenil de Habaneras” in Spain. Won gold medals in five editions of the Portuguese Summer Choral Festival and in 2018 the silver medal in the champions category of the World Choir Games in South Africa.
In 2016, released the album “Mesmo que faça frio” from the portuguese composer Nuno da Rocha.
Filipa Palhares began her musical studies at age nine at Instituto Gregoriano de Lisboa, where she studied until 1990, the year she joined Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, where she earned a degree in Choral Conducting. In this school studied with Christopher Bochmann, Sibertin-Blanc, Roberto Perez, Luis Madureira, Gerhard Doderer, Cremilde Rosado Fernandes, Vasco Azevedo e Paulo Lourenço, among others. In this same school obtained a Masters degree in Choral Conducting.
Attended courses in choral conducting with Bernard Tetu (Lyon), Herbert Breuer (Hamburg) and Jose Antonio Sainz Alfaro (San Sebastian). In 1995/96 and 97 studied with Max von Egmond, Marius Altena (Singing) and Jacques Ogg (Harpsichord) in the courses of Baroque Music Casa de Mateus. Attended by 98/99 the course of artistic development in Choral Conducting at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid.
She began her teaching activity in 1990, and since 2006 teaches at Instituto Gregoriano de Lisboa, the children’s and youth choirs, with whom she performs regularly, getting with them a gold medal in the five editions of the Portuguese Summer Choral Festival, the first prize in the “Certamen Juvenil de Habaneras” in Spain, having been the subject of the best reviews by the Spanish jury and in 2018 the silver medal in the champions category of the World Choir Games in South Africa. Also with these choirs, recorded in 2016 the album “Mesmo que faça frio” with music for choir, piano and orchestra, from the portuguese composer Nuno da Rocha.
Was a member of Camerata Vocal de Lisboa and Coro Feminino Cantata. Conducted Orfeão da Covilhã, Conductus Ensemble, Grupo Coral de with whom recorded the CD of choral music «Terra Morena» (2000), and Grupo Coral Encontro with whom recorded the CD “25 anos de Canto”. Was the founder and conductor of Coro do Tejo and currently conducts Grupo Coral dos “Loureiros” and Vocal Dacapo. In the opera area has collaborated as a singer and conductor in several productions.
